Des spun around as soon as he walked into the room. She raised her hand and pointed to the clothes on the racks. “What is all of this?”
He moved closer to her until he could envelop his arms about her waist. “I’m sorry, but I love you. I missed all of your birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. I just wanted to make it up to you.”
“But—?”
He placed his fingers over her lips. “No buts, babe. You are my bride. Do you truly understand what that means?”
“I…”
“Let me make it clearer to you.” Stark naked, he dropped down on both knees and held her hand. “Desiree, Hali or whatever you choose to call yourself, to me you are always and forever my bride. In the way of my people we are mated, in the ways of the landwalkers marry me. I never want to be apart from you again.”
She inhaled sharply, then her eyes filled with tears. “I don’t know what to say.”
“Yes.”
“It’s not that simple, Zek.”
“Just tell me this. Do you love me?”
“Let’s say I’m falling.”
“Good enough.” He sat on the ottoman and pulled her down until she sat on his lap. He wiped her tears.
She traced the tattoo of the heart wrapped in barbed wire on his chest. “I get the tat of the Impala on your arm but why barbed wire around the heart?”
“The two combined represent love and pain. They go hand in hand for some of us. For me, knowing I found the woman I was destined to love. I had to go through the pain of being separated from her…From you. But what I felt for you gave me hope. I found you once and I would find you again. And the Greek letters spell Hali, because I belong to you.”
“Oh, my God!” Des looked like she wanted to cry again.
Zek kissed each eyelid. “No tears, agapetos. No more tears. We’re together now.” Moving the robe aside, he cupped his hand around one breast and lowered his head, covering the other with his mouth.
She grasped his shoulders and sank into his embrace. Before they could get too carried away, she held him tightly against her breast.
Des took deep breaths, perhaps in an attempt to get control of her emotions; suddenly she jumped off his lap.
He frowned.
She smiled. “We’ll continue this later. It’s getting late and I’ve got to get dressed. This is a big day for my best friend and your brother. And don’t think you’re off the hook for buying me these things, but thank you.” Her eyes glistened when she looked at him.
Looking amused, he stood, staring at her and smirking.
She’d forgotten her robe hung wide open leaving her susceptible to his appraisal.
Zek really liked what he saw. His dick agreed, jerking to full attention.
Closing her robe, she held the ends together. “Oh no you don’t… Later.”
Suddenly, he stopped grinning and stood directly in front of her. His hands gripped her shoulders in a gentle way, before lowering his head to touch her forehead. “So, you will stay with me? Give us a chance. Just know it won’t change anything, we’re already mated. Even if you left it would be difficult for us to be apart, or so I’m told.”
She sighed at his words. He knew exactly what to say to her. His love burrowed deep inside. What did she really have to lose? “I’ll stay; just the thought of leaving is difficult for me to even dwell on.”
He smiled. “I better go jump in the shower. Xav has a few jobs for me to do too, and if I don’t leave you alone now we might miss the wedding.” Naked, Zek stepped around her, walked out of the closet to the shower.
She ogled his ass every step of the way. It dawned on her, even his morning breath smelled sweet. Damn! Another thought flashed across her mind, what would his cum taste like? She had an overwhelming desire to find out. They could be quick. She dropped the robe and joined him in the shower.
“I knew you couldn’t resist,” he said. He shifted and took her in his arms.
Then unexpectedly, she took control. She put both her hands on his chest and pushed. She moved him only because he allowed it and they both knew it. Didn’t matter as long as she had his back against the wall. “I’ve got to be quick,” she said to him. “I’ve only got about fifteen minutes.” Then she dropped to her knees and took his already full thick length into her mouth.
The warm water from the duel showerheads beat on and around them.
His hands fisted in her hair and he groaned.
She placed one hand on his ass and tried to squeeze him. The other hand, she placed on his cock to hold it straight out. It curved a little to the right.
His ass flexed against her hand and he surged deeper into her mouth. Another groan emerged from his throat.
Moving her hand off his ass, she grabbed his balls and squeezed. She continued to work him with her mouth, up and down his shaft. Her tongue rubbed back and forth against the crown of his head. Eventually, he bucked his hips faster, in and out. She held on, creating suction for him. His hands tightened in her hair pulling against her scalp. Turning her on even more. She relaxed her throat and took him deeper. Until he shuddered in her grasp and then shoved his dick one last time as deep as she could take him, before he gave up to her what she desired.
Oh-my-god! Sweet and musky, sugar and salted cream. She lapped up every last delicious drop. She knew she’d never think of or taste cream again without thinking about him. And how much she wanted more of his cum. Even after pulling off his dick, she stared at it as it softened. Some unseen string pulled her forward again, and she licked him one last time around the head. She stood up as he slid to the floor of the shower, his knees bent, and his ass on the ground.
He gazed up at her with hooded eyes. “Damn!”
“Mmm…you taste good.” Des licked her lips and left him in the shower, quickly drying herself off. She brushed her teeth before returning to the closet to get dressed and get out of there as fast as she could. She made it a point to not even look in the direction of the shower or the mirror to catch a glimpse of his perfect body. If he touched her before she could leave, she’d never get out of there. Already, she hungered for more of him. She’d made it as far as the bedroom door before she heard his voice.
“Remember babe, payback is gonna be a son of a bitch.”
She slammed the door while he laughed. That’s okay. She still had a smile on her face when she went in search of Cori.
For such short notice, the wedding turned out beautifully and Cori made a gorgeous bride. These Oceanus men in Tux’s were like a drug—addicting ones. What was it about men of the sea?
Throughout the ceremony, Zek didn’t take his gaze off her.
She knew because she couldn’t stop staring at him. Did she love him? Now how stupid would that be? Each moment she spent with him only solidified she in fact did.
After the ceremony, they enjoyed a dinner out on the patio with the ocean as a backdrop.
Cori’s parents were understandably a little shell shocked, but who could blame them? Des sorta felt the same way but for different reasons. However, no one clued Cori’s parents in on the non-human nature of their new son-in-law, or their daughter’s changed nature.
Soon, the newlyweds left for the privacy of the cottage on the other side of the island.
Cori’s folks retired to the wing Zek set aside for them. Jerry and his parents had gone back to their place and Aaron and Cyrus had taken the boat to the mainland to find trouble there.
Leaving her alone with Zek.
She stood on the sand watching the boat disappear from view when she felt him come up behind her.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?” Zek said and captured her around her waist. He drew her body to his. Close enough, so she would be sure to feel his erection.
She ground her ass against him, satisfied when she heard him moan.
“Minx,” he growled in her ear just before he clasped it between his teeth. Not enough to hurt, just enough to arouse. But he needed to do very little to get
her going. Being in the same room would suffice.
“Mmm,” she said tilting her head sideways to stare at him. “You look pretty good yourself. Must be all this sea air.”
He kept one hand at her waist but moved to stand in front of her. “Swim.” It wasn’t a request.
She smiled and nodded. Circling his waist, she moved to lead the way back to the house, so she could change into a suit. She should have known he had other ideas when he stopped her sideways turn and instead, moved her to face the water again.
“This way,” he urged, and they walked just beyond the edge of the tide.
“We can’t go skinny dipping.” She twisted in his arms, expecting to see Cori’s mom or worse—dad, peeping at them from one of the windows running along this side of the house.
As if he knew her thoughts he said, “Their room doesn’t have a view of this side of the water, besides they’re probably asleep.”
“What if Aaron and Cyrus forgot something and turn around or Xav and Cori? I know the cottage looks this way. I can see it.”
He released her, shrugged out of his jacket and dropped it to the sand, and then he unbuttoned his shirt. “Trust me, babe, Cori and Xav are doing everything but looking at us through their bedroom window, and Aaron and Cyrus probably won’t be back until morning.” He took the shirt off and dropped it onto the jacket before working on his pants.
She bit her lip and glanced back at the house again, then turned to look at him. Not a stitch of clothing adorned his sleek toned muscled frame. “No boxers?”
“No. Less clothes to get out of. Come on. Swim with me. Let me show you my world.”
She raised her hand and unhooked the snap at her neck. With nothing to hold her dress up her top dropped revealing her breasts.
His eyes zeroed in on her nipples and his hands rose. Lightly, he brushed his thumbs back and forth across them.
Then she unzipped the side of the dress and it fell at her feet near his pile of clothes.
His gaze followed the dress as it fell from her body. He licked his lips. Thunder rumbled overhead and lightning flashed across the surface of the sea.
“What the hell! Did you see that?” she yelled grabbing onto him and looking at the clear night sky. “Maybe we better go back inside. I think a storm or something is coming.”
When she finally glanced at him, he wore a grin. “I see someone else went commando, too.”
She shrugged. Glad she’d let Cori talk her into getting a Brazilian wax before they’d gone on vacation. No underwear would have worked with the clingy dress. And she found Zek’s reaction worth it. He took her hand and naked they walked into the ocean, but she pulled him to a halt. “Babe, didn’t you see the lightning strike the water?” She looked up at the sky again, then back at the water. “Maybe we better take this inside before it does it again.”
He laughed.
She frowned. “What’s so funny?” When lightning crackled across the water again, she jumped. “See. See. I told you. Does this happen a lot around here?”
“Only if I will it.”
She turned to look at him. “What do you mean, if you will it?”
Thunder rumbled overhead. “Do you trust me?”
“Yeah, but what does that—”
He kissed her. Without breaking contact, he picked her up and walked out into the sea. Thunder continued to rumble directly above them, though no clouds graced the evening sky.
She held on to his shoulders. “Are you going to tell me what’s going on?”
Zek didn’t stop until they were far enough out and they couldn’t stand. They treaded water. He kept one arm circling her hips while lightning danced across the water around them. The bolts enclosed them in a circle but they remained unharmed.
“What—how?” Des exclaimed glancing frantically at the electricity sparking too near them. Not quite sure what the hell happened.
“I have told you I am a son of Poseidon. Each of his children has a gift. Some stronger than others. Like landwalkers have individual talents, so do the Children. Xavior can talk to and control any, well most, creatures of the sea. Others of our people can do so to a lesser degree. We also have two sisters, and one has this ability also. Aaron is our strongest fighter. He can create a pulse of water that hits you with the force of an eighteen-ton wheeler. Cyrus is a telekinetic.”
“And you?”
“I control the power of a storm. Thunder and lightning are mine to call.”
She chuckled. “I see. That’s what you meant when you said something about power earlier. I thought it was just a metaphor or something. I remember lightning striking the sharks that day you saved me. I thought it was weird…but it was you.”
He nodded. “I would let nothing harm you.”
“I know. Well, is that all you can do? Which is pretty powerful stuff.”
“Yes. So, I need you to know, any of our offspring might possess any of these powers, or others to varying degrees.”
At first, too stunned to reply to what he’d said, she could only stare at him. Unsure really which issue to address first…The thought that they might have children or that they would also have powers. She went with the most obvious. “I know we’ve had sex without a condom.”
He raised his eyebrows. “Several times.”
“I want you to know I’ve never been so lax. For some reason with you, sense seems to fly out the window.” She took a deep breath. “But I’m on the pill, so you don’t need to worry about that.”
He frowned. “Des, I love you. And we will be married one day, sooner rather than later. But do you not want my children?”
She read the worry in his beautiful sea green eyes. The lightning still dancing around them reflected in those depths. Yes. She did. She shook her head. “Yes. Someday.”
“Soon.”
“Soon.”
The truth of those words resonated from her core. She didn’t know who moved first but suddenly, they were flush against each other, their bodies entwined. Their lips fused together as they sank to the ocean floor. No matter what she would never leave him. I love you. She projected to him.
As I you, my Hali.
